India' Struggle as they lost :

Sri Lankan spin bowler Jeffrey Vandersay single-handedly took 6 wickets to send India's top and middle order batsmen back to the pavilion. Srilanka's Innings:

Today Sri Lanka batted first and lost 6 wickets for 136 runs at a time. But from that stage, a partnership of 72 runs in the seventh wicket took Sri Lanka to a fighting score of 240 runs.  Dunith Wellalage and Kamindu Mendis made that change by batting at Nos. 7 and 8 respectively.

Sri Lanka lost their in-form batsman Pathum Nisanka on the very first ball of the match today by a sharp outswinger from Mohammad Siraj. But Avishka Fernando (40) and Kushal Mendis (30) evaded Mohammad Siraj's sharp bowling attack to put up a 74-run partnership for the second wicket to take the Lankans ahead.

Sadira Samarawickrama and Charith Asalank looked helpless against the Indian spin attack. Samarawickrama made 14 off 31 balls before being caught by Virat Kohli off Axar patel, while Asalanka (25 runs) got out with a simple catch to short third man on a turning-bouncing delivery from Washington Sundar.

Sri Lanka looked a bit dismal for being 136/6 after 35 overs  but Dunith Wellalage (39) and Kamindu Mendis (40) gave Sri Lanka hope in the seventh wicket. The pair put on a 72-run partnership at the end to help the scoreboard to 240 runs.
