Today Srilanka won the toss and elected to field first. Top four batsman of indian batting lineup powered them to post a total of 213 run on the board. The World Champions were the favourites at the halfway stage but the Sri Lankan batters did put up a fight. Chasing a big total, Nissanka started his innings in aggressive mode but Mendis overtook him after the powerplay. Sri Lankan openers scored 55 runs in the powerplay at close to 10 RPO.

Arshdeep broke the 84 run opening stand in the ninth over as he dismissed Mendis with a knuckle ball. That didn't hamper Nissanka as he notched up a fifty and kept finding boundaries. He was involved in another half-century partnership with Perera and Sri Lanka needed 74 runs off the last six overs with nine wickets in hand.

That's when Axar put a spoke in the hosts' wheel with a double-wicket over. Sri Lanka couldn't recover from that.  They continue losing wickets in row as they lost their last nine wickets for 30 runs only. Finally India allout them within 19.2 overs for 170 runs only.

Today Riyan Parag taken 3 wickets in just 1.2 over of his spell. Both Arshdeep Singh and Axar patel picked 2 wickets. Ravi Bishnoi and Mohammad Siraj taken 1 wickets each.
