Pitch Installation Process Started In Nassau Cricket Stadium For T20 World Cup 2024.

Pitch Arrived In New York For ICC T20 CRICKET WORLD CUP 2024.

A significant achievement has been reached at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in preparation for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup in June. The delivery of the pitches for the event has been successfully completed.

A total of 10 pitches arriving at the New York venue. The installation process has already begun for the pitches, which were prepared in Florida by Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions starting from the end of last year.

Adelaide Oval Head Curator Damian Hough will oversee the preparation of four out of the ten pitches in the center of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. The remaining six pitches will be laid at the nearby practice facilities, ensuring a comprehensive training environment.

Twenty semi-trailer trucks were utilized for the transportation of the pitches from Florida to New York. Hough confirmed that the delivery went smoothly without any significant issues, ensuring that everything is proceeding as planned for the eight matches scheduled to take place at the 34,000-seat stadium in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, situated east of Manhattan.

"We couldn't be happier," Hough said.

"Everything is going to plan, they (the pitches) are in real good condition and all of our benchmarks and measures that we take along the way are exceeding expectations."

Next month, the New York venue will host matches for nine out of the 20 teams participating in this year's T20 World Cup. The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, which is the next chapter in their ongoing rivalry, will take place on 9 June and is expected to be the highlight of the tournament.

The USA, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Bangladesh are among the teams set to compete at the venue. Hough is looking forward to seeing a fair contest between bat and ball due to the conditions at the ground.

"We hope we have got a good T20 pitch, that has good pace, good bounce and (provides) value for shots," Hough said.

"You want the batters to be able to play shots all over the ground so that is our design and at the start our ambition was to produce pitches along those lines."
