ICC Announced 26 Match Officials For The Upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

The ICC has announced the roster of 26 Match Officials for the opening matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA, commencing on 1 June.

Among the officials are 20 umpires and six match referees who will oversee the ninth edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup. This year's tournament will feature 20 teams competing in a total of 55 matches across 28 days at nine different venues, making it the largest ICC T20 World Cup thus far.


The distinguished group of umpires includes Richard Illingworth, the recipient of last year's David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year, as well as Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, and Paul Reiffel, all of whom were part of the Final of the Men's T20 World Cup 2022 between England and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.


The team of match referees comprises Ranjan Madugalle, who officiated the 2022 Final, and Jeff Crowe, the most seasoned referee in the format.


Wasim Khan, ICC General Manager – Cricket, commented on the selection of the Match Officials for the historic event: “We are delighted to unveil our team of match referees and umpires for the momentous ICC Men’s T20 World Cup".


“Among the chosen group, we have a mix of seasoned match officials and other top-performing individuals who have been acknowledged for their consistent and impressive performances. The progression from the pathway program will continue to foster the growth and emergence of top-notch match officials throughout the sport".

Umpires: Chris Brown, Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Richard Illingworth, Allahudien Paleker, Richard Kettleborough, Jayaraman Madanagopal, Nitin Menon, Sam Nogajski, Ahsan Raza, Rashid Riaz, Paul Reiffel, Langton Rusere, Shahid Saikat, Rodney Tucker, Alex Wharf, Joel Wilson and Asif Yaqoob.


Match referees: David Boon, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Andrew Pycroft, Richie Richardson and Javagal Srinath.
