FIFA WORLDCUP 2022:The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious competition in world football, with the best national teams from across the globe competing for the honour in every four years.

The first edition was held back in 1930 and was won by the hosts, Uruguay. Thirteen teams took part in that tournament and it has since expanded to 32 teams, with the 2026 edition set to be contested by 48 nations.

This year Qatar is conducting the 22nd Edition of the FIFA World Cup 2022 from 20 November 2022. A fight between 32 teams to secure a place in the FIFA World Cup winners List through a total of 64 matches. Since the inaugural competition in 1930, when it was called the Jules Rimet Trophy,eight different countries have won Fifa Worldcup  champions in 21 editions.
Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina, France, Uruguay, England and Spain have won the FIFA World Cup trophy.

Brazil is the most successful team in world cup history. They have won the tournament a record five times, the last of which came in 2002 by defeating  Germany 2-0 in the final.
The Germans are next on the list of most successful World Cup nations, having lifted the trophy on four occasions – three as West Germany and once more as a unified nation in 2014. Italy, the first nation to win two World Cups.
 
Uruguay were the inaugural champions, the first side to claim the Jules Rimet trophy in 1930, and won one more title in an upset in 1950. Argentina have also won two titles.
