There are five post-tournament fifa world cup awards are given to the best players from different categories.

Incidentally, the Golden Boot award at FIFA World Cups started officially from 1982. It was known as the Golden Shoe award at the time. It came to be known as the Golden Boot only from 2010.

The Second highest goal scorer wins silver Boot while the third-highest scorer walks away with the Bronze Boot.

If at the conclusion of the tournament two or more players are tied at the top of the list with the same number of goals, the award will go to the player with the most non-penalty goals, and if they are still tied, it will go to the player with the most assists

The record for the most number of goals scored in a FIFA World Cup belongs to France’s Just Fontaine, who scored 13 goals in the 1958 edition in Sweden.

No player has won the Golden Boot more than once, but Brazilians hold the record for winning the award the most number of times - on six occasions.

Argentina’s Guillermo Stabile,is the first FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner, top scoring at the 1930 FIFA World Cup in Uruguay, the inaugural edition, with eight goals.
